The Lady and the Bear

Straight out of the oven and still hot, this loaf of artisan bread looked too delicious to resist.
I found it in a new coffee shop that opened this week nearby and which for me is about to become a worthy alternative to Söderberg.
The baristas were originally in Söderberg so I know them well. The space is light and airy and stands back on a busy corner with lots of interest to look at outside the windows.

I cycled over to Waitrose at Morningside first thing this morning to buy a particular brand of fish pie which they stock ( don’t ask) and when I was three quarters of the way there I realised I had forgotten my mask. You might imagine that after a year of masking up, it would be the first thing you thought about after house keys when leaving home . I couldn’t bear the thought of turning back so I went into the shop and asked if they could give me a mask. They did with no hesitation. I was well impressed!
