Camellia

Perhaps it's because it's been such a dull, grey day today that I noticed how particularly bright the new growth is on this camellia. I'm enjoying the new peachy-orange tips that open into a lighter green, before darkening like the older leaves. It's good to see the new growth as it means more potential flowers in the spring (or late winter).

The sun is trying its utmost to break through at last, going up to 4pm. I've spent a lot of the day painting in acrylics. My painting's reached the stage of 'OMG don't let anyone see it at this point', but I hope it'll come out of the woods at my next session. If not, I guess I can always start again!
