Tower Bridge

We have been reading about The Tower Bridge Cat in a couple of L’s storybooks for a couple of years now. They are firm favourites.

Today we went inside, climbed up all the original steps of the north tower and crossed the west walkway - glass floor and everything! Afterwards we did a quick tour of the engine room (and, of course, the shop) before a little walk along the river and a great view of the bascules opening for a maintenance lift.

At the time L was quite impatient as we went round but she has talked about it a lot since.

We had lunch in St Katherine’s Dock which was quite peaceful, away from the traffic. We sat outside and it was so warm.
