Leaf miners

I noticed my nasturtium leaves have been attacked by leaf miners.  Can anyone advise if they will do this again in the same place next year and should I find something to get rid or just leave them to enjoy!
It has been a lovely sunny day and much warmer. Liliana and her Mum are coming tonight as her Mum has to direct a woodwind group in Inverness tomorrow so Liliana will stay with us. I have made lots of biscuits, some heart shaped and some stars. We will have fun decorating them.
