Hadeda Ibis

 I was having a video chat with Penni who is in the departure lounge at OR Tambo airport when there was a raucous chorus of Hadedas - as if they were saying farewell. She'd forgotten what morning alarm clocks they are, when she stayed here. 
She's had a wonderful ten weeks in SA, but is ready to go back to NYC. She's visited all the friends she wanted to, bought so much SA jewelry, bought the foods she can't get in NY (or has to pay a fortune for) and paid a huge amount for the extra parcel with three of hubby T's paintings she wanted.
Feeling a bit tearful, but what a wonderful time we had. A glass of wine is called for.
It's been a beautiful day and I played good golf, so all is well.
