The Rowan Thief
Another day at the coal face. My day started badly with IT problems whereby I just could not log on. It took me over half an hour to just get logged on. Then later in the afternoon I had some more frustrating IT challenges. So annoying when you have no one to turn to for advice. I did message a couple of colleagues but they had no advice. After that frustrating start it took me ages to get going and to get stuck into my to do list.
I did have a nice catch up with a colleague who got married about a month ago. We haven’t spoken since as she was off, then I was off. It was good to catch up and hear about her big day. It sounded lovely – very small and intimate and very relaxed. She’s promised to send me a couple of picture.
My lunchtime walk was in the middle of the afternoon again, and it was another hot day – which I wasn’t really aware of until I escaped for half an hour.
After I logged off I had to take BB for school shoes/trainers. It wasn’t too painful. They didn’t have the ones he wanted in his size, but he eventually chose another pair. They looked much the same to me! TT had made tea while we were out. Later I had a wee walk, to the background sound of combines hard at work.
Later I reminded BB that he had to get ready for school and he had the cheek to ask me at 10.30pm whether I had bought him any pens and pencils for school. The answer is yes, I bought them weeks ago but he took absolutely no interest in them. He needs to get back to school. He needs some structure and purpose in his life. I sound just like my mother.
The blackbird families are feasting on our rowan berries. It will be stripped bare very soon.
