Quod oculus meus videt

It was the second day of treatment and this time I was asked to arrive an hour before the appointment. This was so they could manage my water intake and in case there were any delays to the session.  In the end I didn’t do any drinking before a radiologist came out and asked me how I was feeling.  I’m beginning to be able to judge when I have the right amount of fluid in my bladder so I said I was OK and as a result I went in for treatment half an hour early.

Apparently there was a shortage of gowns so I just had to drop my trousers in front of the (female) radiologists and hop on the bench.  A sheet of paper protected  my dignity as I slipped down my pants so they could line me up using my tattoos. This time the ultrasound of my bladder confirmed the correct amount of fluid straight off and the initial scan commenced.  That scan also confirmed we were OK to go and the treatment started.

You only have to lie there so it was mildly interesting to note a variation in the way the machine moved around me this time from the first occasion.  It soon finished and I was off the bench and heading home.

This afternoon and evening I have felt some nausea and haven’t felt like eating since lunch.  Other than that I haven’t noticed any effect as yet.  On Monday I have an appointment before treatment with a radiologist to discuss the types of effect I might experience.

This shot was taken while I was walking to the hospital.  It is the start of the old Bentley Canal which used to go across to Willenhall and has now been infilled and redeveloped. This small section was part of the retail/entertainment development at Bentley Bridge, next to a pub and a multiplex cinema.
