Revealing History

Sadly not a Euan blip today but we have seen a video of a very happy little boy whose Daddy arrived safely from the US this morning.  At the eleventh hour, a tornado was forecast for Salem and folks were taking to their basements.  Thankfully, it was downgraded and Rob was able to take his flight.  The family can now focus on settling in to their new house and lives.

Our friends and neighbours are having their roof mended on their 400 year old cottage and it is revealing a slice of history.  The roofers have marvelled at the huge purlin which has had to be removed because it has caused the bow in the roof.  I also heard comments about the length of the nails which had to be removed and were causing problems.  Our back bedroom window has this excellent view of the roof as it progresses so I have promised L and P that I will record it for them.  P wants to make something for the house out of the huge purlin which will be a reminder of its age.  We'll look forward to seeing what he comes up with.  My blip is of 'The Boss' explaining something of the work to P in the foreground, at the beginning of the day.  It already looks very different to this!
