Female Southern Hawker dragonfly

I went out into the garden for a walk round the pond at 17:00 this afternoon, and came across this female Southern Hawker dragonfly laying eggs. I then went indoors to get a camera, but as I cannot rush, this takes time. I was surprised to see that that it was still there when I got back outside again. Then came the difficult part, trying to keep my balance whilst looking through the view finder. Even using the screen on the back was difficult, but I did manage to get some shots that were sharp.
