Maidstone's Riverfront

Continuing my series on Maidstone and particularly my view that the Council have let its citizens down. This is a view of the west bank of the Medway in the centre of town

An ugly Travelodge and a rash of retail outlets surrounded by car parks. Just peeping through between the Travelodge and Asda is little St Peter's Church.

It doesn't get any better to the left of the bridge, with another shopping centre, the County Law Courts and the Lockmeadow Complex.

And behind me? A dual carriageway backed by the bluff end of another shopping mall. The best bit of the riverside is All Saints and Archbishop's Palace. I'll show you that view another time.
