Bug life.
A day of interesting insects.
The main photo is apparently Dicranopalpus ramosus or harvestman spider according to searches. I found it on a wall underneath a wisteria I was pruning and was amazed by the legs and the fantastic 'Zoro' mask on its abdomen signifying it's a male.
Earlier in the day I was getting buzzed by the hornet hoverfly which seemed to have a fascination with my hat. Another impressive beastie, completely harmless just mimics a hornet to avoid being eaten by birds.
After work met up with the retired gardener I inherited a number of my customers from, we enjoyed a catch-up and a beer brewed in the pub we were at, food miles from production to consumption approximately fifteen metres.
RF and I then had a takeaway and a cosy evening revisiting around the world in eighty days.
