Damson Picking

We drove down to do the Park Run this morning and the sat in the car for 10 minutes to avoid the torrential rain. With no sign of it stopping we decided the sensible thing to do was give it a miss. By the time we got home it had stopped raining, of course, so we did our regular not-the-park run route instead. We still got soaked as it started raining again not long after we set off!

After that, it was the weekly shop and watching the football on TV. Yeovil’s first game of the seaso n away at Wrexham was called off due to Covid in the Yeovil camp; I really can’t understand why players won’t have the vaccination when catching Covid affects their job like this.

The Damson tree in our back lane is laden with ripe fruit already so we picked enough this afternoon for a couple of bottles of damson gin.
