Butlins for Starlings

Here they are enjoying the breakfast buffet before having a splash around in the pool / bird bath and spending some time on the terrace / privet hedge. At the moment it's not unusual for around 30 or so to descend on us when the food goes out.
There are still quite a number of assorted fledglings around, but as the breeding season draws to a close, we are starting to see a wider range of birds - Coal Tits, Great Tits, a Wren, Gold and Greenfinches, Chiffchaffs - even a Heron over and I caught a fleeting glimpse of something enormous over this afternoon, which might just have been a Red Kite. All seen from the comfort of indoors, as it's been a fairly wet and gloomy day
