The Golden Princess

This is the little Princess and has become a landmark in Budapest even though it's only been on the banks of the Danube since 1990, as you can see she is also been lit up to look golden.
Made by Laszlo Marton, it looks like a boy, because of the clothes, but if you check out the sign underneath the statue, you'll see it's a girl. The artist was inspired watching his little daughter playing in the garden dressed in a costume. I wanted to try and capture both her and the palace

After yesterday's bright blue sky its back to torrential rain and cold today, this evening at the Danube it was -9 with a wind so strong I could barely keep the tripod in place. A severe weather warning has been issued for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday for more snow.

Many thanks for all your lovely comments, stars and hearts for yesterdays gull, it's a bit different for me, but after seeing some of Paladian's, Biker bear's or CraigD's shots I fancied a go :-)
