Blencathra

Despite what the forecast predicted, we managed to set up camp today in dry weather (even warm!) which was a pleasant surprise as we’d prepared ourselves for rain all day.

The campsite is within view of Blencathra which, for most of the day, has had a lovely layer of cloud settling over it. Cannot wait to hike up.

This evening we found a little waterfall at the other side of the site with a plunge pool. Thankfully I was able to persuade dad to come for a dip with me (it didn’t take much). Utterly glorious (though freezing) to stick your head under the falls and jump in off the ledge. I think we’re going to like it here.

The nephews have been full of fun and hilarity today. And a bit too much wind. Boys.
