Bad Grönenbach
Early morning appointment at my Urologist for a follow-up blood test. Lovely sunny day in this lovely sleepy Spa town that seems to be 90% concerned with health issues with a huge modern complex above the town centre with hotel like accommodation for people recovering from operations & illnesses.
Although nothing like the "free month's holiday on National Health system, every two years" which it used to be, it is still standard practice to get people out of hospital as quickly as possible and into such facilities that run a quite strict daily regime of health courses & treatments and although lots of free time, there is a nightly curfew. Post WWII until 1990, it was standard for many to get a doctor's prescription for 2-4 weeks "stress treatment" & holiday in a lovely part of Germany, with tea dances in the afternoon & wherever possible to ensure one went without partner so as to have a short "Spa-Friendship"!
I didn't have much time today so walked the 50 metres from docs to market place and took a few snaps before returning home via the supermarket in Ottobeuren, only to discover empty shelves! We understand over here in Germany that the UK has been experiencing some supermarket food supply issues, according to the UK Government, solely connected to the unique UK Delta Covid-19 variant. Well, in Germany the empty shelves are only in the Norma Supermarket chain today as they clear space for the first delivery of Christmas Stollen, Lebkuchen & all that stuff!
The main photo is of a seemingly now closed down restaurant next to the Urologist who is in the modern pink/sand coloured building to the left.
