Footdee

Had a drive to Aberdeen beach. Kara has now finally seen the sea. And waved at it!

Had a wander along the esplanade to grab a coffee from one of the truck vendors. Very good coffee and turns out Jen went to school with one of the people running it (although only worked out exactly who they were after we’d left).

At the end is a place called Footdee (pronounced footie). A quick wiki search outlined the history as a place to house fishermen and their families in the early 1800’s. Now it is a collection of houses and ‘sheds’ opposite each one like this. All are unique, many are quirky. A fun place to visit. Although, from what Jen was saying, the place can be overrun with the ‘Instagram crowd’ to pose for photos. Suppose I’m adding to that slightly here but at least I’m not posing outside someone’s house!
