Stripey fly

I thought I had made quite a catch with this fly with its stripes and chequered back but it turns out to be a very 'common flesh fly', not  really a catch ;-) Since it's on a delicate pink cosmos I think it's an adult who does eat/drink nectar instead of flesh...

Thanks so much for all the great ICM and other entries for last week's Abstract Thursday I enjoyed seeing your AT Blips. This coming Thursday the optional theme is 'minimalist', for any ideas on this just Google 'minimalist abstract photography'. The tag will be AT322.

I spent most of the day cooking (we had a Bouillabaisse and a Chowder and a Japanese curry for dinner today) and so I only  had time to sprinkle stars on your entries.

Here's the list of 5 specials from last Thursday:
Kd                          sunflower in the rain ICM
Anneli                    ICM tree landscape
kwdiane                colourful ICM twirls
RHelena                out of this world crop (natural, colours, reflections + jelly fish !)
selfcontained       warm zoom ICM

Thanks so much for the kind comments, stars and even two hearts for yesterday's mating butterflies, who turned out to be gatekeepers instead of meadow browns (with thanks to lathyrus for noticing it)
