Paddling your own canoe

Our local reservoir is turning into a watersports centre . This afternoon it was a hive of activity.

Officially its a reservoir for fishing and there was one solitary fisherman there.
 Meanwhile  there were several dozen  wildwater swimmers and paddle boating folk. ( Not sure what you call people who stand on boards then paddle .)

Those of us who were having a stroll around the reservoir got attacked by swarms of flying ants. Is this the season for them? They were worse than the notorious midges.
