Flugplatz Ramstein

I cycled by the western end of the runway of the Ramstein Airport, where until today about 7000 evacuated people from Afghanistan have arrived. Including a newborn, born right after touchdown with mom still in the aircraft. It's said they will stay here for about 5 days and will then be flown to the US. The airport says they can manage up to 10000 people. Locals are helping with the catering. 

It looked so calm from where I was standing. No air traffic those few minutes.
