Belated Birthday Greetings

Sir Walter Scott's 250th Anniversary was a few weeks ago - we visited Abbotsford today. Not so much to celebrate him as to have a nice lunch after a visit to the hospital, preceeded by farewells to the Kingston crew.

We will see them again on Wednesday, when we meet up with them at Cragside, which is near their holiday home in Northumberland.

So the family visits are over for this summer. I'm feeling the usual mixture of sadness and exhaustion, relieved by enjoyment of the peace and quiet.
