Cranes for Peace

I was in town today for the first time in ages and popped into the craft fair at the West End. I noticed that St John's was open and had a display of 140,000 origami cranes, part of the Peace and Justice groups festival presentation. There is more about it here https://peaceandjustice.org.uk/pj-peace-cranes-exhibition-launched-by-lord-provost-of-edinburgh-consul-general-of-japan-with-a-message-from-nicola-sturgeon-first-minister-of-scotland/
The effect is stunning and one picture can't really show how extraordinary large scale and beautiful it is. See extra for more. It's well worth a visit apart from the fact that St John's is such a beautiful church.
From town I drove south, firstly to Costco for some petrol then to visit Nadine for a coffee and a chat and to pick up some bathsalts from Pentland Aromatics. A wonderful range of scents to choose from. I offloaded some more things to charity shops on the way back then home to enjoy the afternoon sunshine in the garden now that the haar has cleared. A beautiful pastel pink sky this evening.
I see that they are advertising that it's time to book a flu jab, doesn't seem like a year since the last one! What with flu jabs and a covid booster the logistics are going to be complicated this year. We're lucky to have them available through.
Keep safe everyone, I hate to see the numbers going up
