The blowdown of the boiler house and chimneys at Ferrybridge power station.Sunday

Its amazing how quickly one very large building and 2 very tall chimneys can be raised to the ground. I missed the live stream as we were out with the dogs but caught the video later. One big bang and it was quite spectacular. What a lot of dust though. Cars streets everything was covered im glad i dont live near. They have already taken some of the cooling towers down only 3 left.

To those who dont know this power station is on the A1 and to many people coming home up North its a landmark. First you saw the 2 tall chimneys then the cooling towers and someone always said "Ferrybridge were nearly home" it's always been a relief to see after a long journey.

So today as i walked through the woods i took the pic to put with last fridays pic.

Today was really warm with a breeze which dried my washing lovely. Plus I got the lawn at the front cut at last.
