Scrapbooking
Since I am trying to be good and stay at home and recuperate, I grabbed a couple of hours this afternoon to indulge in one of my passions - scrapbooking. This photo is the top of my desk in my studio with my 2012 family album that I am currently working on.
About 15 years ago, I started to preserve our memories in scrapbooks. It has been quite a journey through slides, old photos, film (still in canisters), and then to the conversion to digital photos. A very rewarding journey for my whole family.
I have preserved my 87 year old Mother's nursing career, my 89 year old Father's Army memoirs, our trips, family memories, Weddings, babies - Just about everything! Over a 100 albums and still making them. I don't think I will ever switch from traditional scrapbooks to digital books as I love to work with my hands and create. Besides my family loves to look at the scrapbooks and receive them as gifts. The blessings I have received over the years for making albums for friends, organizations, my church, and family makes it all worth every minute.
Just as pieces stitched together in a quilt warm our bodies, scrapbooks bind together memories to warm our hearts. ~Author Unknown
