Functional architecture

Maybe we shouldn't be flying. Probably not much of a maybe about it. It would be nice to think there's a solution that will still allow us to see amazing places, let our children experience different cultures and be a bit more outward facing.

In the meantime, it is impressive how airports work to process all of these people through a fairly complex process with relatively little grief. Why can't we do it with other aspects of our public life?

Terminal 5 is an impressive bit of architecture.

Anyway, term starts next week. As with every school year, the plan is to have a sensible work/life balance. Let's see how long that lasts.

The boys made full use of the buffet breakfast at the airport hotel. We got the underground back to the airport bus terminal. Uber was quoting us £45 last night for a journey that cost pennies on the tube.
