Not going anywhere soon

Further to yesterdays blip, this starting motor was the culprit. The boat electrician from the marina arrived bright and early, removed the melted battery switch & fitted a new one. Unfortunately when we tried it the engine failed to start and on closer inspection the starter motor was obviously to blame, overheating the battery switch and causing the alarming clouds of smoke. It may be dead. The engineer (my husband) spent a long time on the iPad trying to source a new one with limited success. Tomorrow morning this one is going to the man who might be able to bring it back to life, or not. 
As we couldn't move the boat we spent the day stuck at the fuel berth in the marina, blocking it rather for people trying to buy diesel, but getting on with the list of jobs waiting to be done. We will get a tow back to our own berth tomorrow.
Fingers are still crossed that the weather willmhold for long enough to venture out soon. 
We are just very grateful that the potential fire happened just as we were parking in the marina and not out at sea, which might have involved coastguards and lifeboats.
