Knitted Postbox Topper
Villages in Leicestershire have seen a wave of knitted craftwork appearing on postboxes this year beginning in Syston. Someone even knitted a topper featuring AC12 and Steven Graham, who starred in the series of Line of Duty two years ago. He lives just round the corner, so to speak, in Ibstock.
This afternoon, I caught sight of this creation sitting atop the postbox in Heather, where I had gone to raid the sunflower field at Cattows Farm. It's a vase of flowers.
The sunflowers have mostly finished and much of the field has been inundated with flowering dandelions which are now going to seed. But I did manage to get a bunch. Hopefully a photo tomorrow.
The farm had two baby goats (kids) in the animal enclosure. They were very playful but also rather plump. Makes me wonder what their destiny is.
Anyone interested in Leicestershire's display of knitting could hardly do better than visit The Cosby Yarn Bomb. All manner of knitted and crocheted creations on the theme of Up, up and Away, are on display throughout the village. On until September 6th.
