"Backyard" Heath

Technically, if you headed north off across this heath here and slogged your way through the marshy woods for several miles, you would eventually come out at my house. So I like to think of this as an extension of the yard. This shot was taken from a moving car as my wife and I headed home after an evening walk.

Today was new staff orientation, and since I began my current role mid-way through the year I was on the list to attend. Even though I have been going in every day to get my room prepared, things felt more palpably real today. I am not quite mentally prepared for the new school year to begin. Once everything is up and running I have little problem, but the transition back after so much time away is always very hard. I think I am going to have to give myself a break tomorrow to regroup before heading back in on Thursday.
