Basil

The basil I’ve grown from seed this year has been so much better than last year. I expect it was too hot last year and it never really got going, or maybe I sowed it too late, but we’ve got loads of plants this year, all doing very well. Some are in the base of the large tomato pots but others have never made it beyond these small pots but they don’t seem to have minded too much. It’s lovely to be able to pick our own basil fresh from the garden rather than relying on pots from the supermarket.

The tiler came today and put up the tiles in the shower room. It looks good but there’s things I might have done differently with the pattern once I’ve actually seen them on the wall - it’s quite hard to visualise beforehand. And there’s a niggley bit wrong around the basin that I may have to ask him to come and correct now I’ve noticed it. Which is a pain. And I realise now that the existing colour on the walls does not go with the tiles so I’ll have to repaint - I was hoping I’d just need to patch it up. Oh well, things never go that smoothly!
