Lake Mowhanga

Beautiful day, spent the afternoon around lake mowhanga to look for some blinds. Blinds are items of unexploded ordnance that have failed to function as designed. The Waiouru Army training area has been used as a training ground for a long time and there are many items 'out there' that pose a danger to any one walking around.

We found some ol' 25 pounders around the lake edges. With the drought like conditions weve been having the water level is the lowest its been in a very long time, uncovering some of these sleeping blinds. We destroyed them in place.

Something a bit different today. I had quite a few pics to choose from. Not too sure why I picked this one, I guess its a little different to normal....
