Kazakh Lunch
*Vegetarians and hardened animal lovers may find some descriptions disturbing*
To mark the end of the Nayruz celebrations, a couple of the girls brought food in for lunch. Traditional Kazakh fare, including horse-meat. I know - it's a bit like eating dog in China, (I've not done that btw) but put the fact it's a horse to one side and it tastes like any other meat! It was beautifully cooked - tender and tasty, served hot, with noodles, potatoes and onions. Whilst it's not something I'd order in a restaurant, or buy from the meat counter in Ramstore (it doesn't look too appealing) I really enjoyed it.
