There are many fun facts about the Eastern Chipmunk but these were new for me • Despite the heat and humidity it’s been a productive day. We were out early splitting job duties in the yard and garden to ensure we finished by midday. We actually ran a little late because of water and rest breaks but we got everything done • Our first leek was picked and it smells divine! We also harvested our one bag of red potatoes, and we’re pleased with the results. Although most of the garden has done well this summer our expectations for a good potato crop has been low due to all of the rain. Today’s yield for Reds, however, have made us more optimistic for the fingerlings and the kennebecs. We’ll find out for sure in about a month • I bid you farewell as I need to make a cold pasta salad, and shuck a couple of ears of corn for dinner tonight.
