A blanket of thistledown

There's plenty of thistledown around at this time of year but this is the first time I have seen such an explosion of creeping thistles.

There were two huge swathes in one of the open grass areas in Pollok Park. I think it has just appeared 'cos I don't remember seeing it when Poppy and I walked across the grass last week.

Another scorching day ..... I'm thinking about doing a rain dance in th garden. My fan, which had been put away, is back out on the table beside my bed  lowing lovely cool air whenever I need it.
