Close But No Cigar

There is a driveway (and no car) at the house she was going to and 2 empty parking spaces and absolutely no need to park on the corner and too far out.
However, it was still closer to getting a cigar than this guy taking up 2 parking spaces and failed to get lined up within their length.... and he was closer than this one who barely managed to get 2 wheels into the the 2 parking spaces. 
Do they not teach drivers what parking bays are or where not to park these days?

I was acting as a taxi service today.
The son-in-law needed to drop his car off for a service at 07.30 so I had to take SWMBO over to his house and drop her off to make sure the monsters got ready for school while I followed him to the garage and then took him back home.
It was then a case of taking SWMBO to the shops. 
On the way home there was a call to say that The Cygnet was making his way home from school .... the person he sits next to in class has just proved positive for COVID.
An appointment was obtained for him to go and be tested at lunchtime .... that was going to be me taking him. However, when I was doing some turning plans changed again - S-I-L got a call to say his car was ready ... so I took him and The Cygnet up to the garage , dropped them off and they carried on to the test centre. Although the test takes 3-4 hours to get a result, the person who gets the test may have to wait up to 6 days!
But in that time anyone they have been in close contact with could be passing on the plague to God only knows how many without knowing.
Talk about inefficient.

In other news ..... 
The leaking mug is no longer leaking (it now has an epoxy resin coating.
More rotting wood has been repurposed.
The flywheel effect keeps this going long enough for my coffee machine to make something to go in the non leaking mug.
