Though it's (inevitably?) not as perfect as my original vision, I'm pretty happy with it. At least, I think I will be once I've stopped scrutinising it and have grown used to it being there.

Horrible weather at the moment. Wind's 30 mph or thereabouts. This morning there was snow caked to just one side of the chimneys out my window.
