Laghetto Moesola, San Bernardino Pass

An early morning blip at the top of the San Bernardino Pass. Beautiful light as the cloud lifted.

We put lots of layers on and set off down the mountain on our bikes to Thusis . The first part was steeply downhill. Lovely deep gorges along the second part of the ride. The route took us through some beautiful villages…it was like stepping back in time. The language slowly became more Italian.

We took the bus back up to the start of the Pass, which was an experience in itself. At times it really didn’t look like you could get a bus through! We cycled up the Pass, 8km, 460m and lots of hairpin bends but a great angle for cycling. Delighted to reach the top. We then drove down to outside Bellinzona ready for tomorrow’s ride. See extras for more views of the area. Great day out…we’re already planning to come back to this region.
