Spring ?

Although it is only a week before Easter I awoke to snow and it has just gone on snowing. 8 hours later it is still snowing and the high wind is piling up drifts all around the house. The daffodils in the garden which were flowering in warm sunshine exactly a year ago are today encrusted in ice.

Even a blip from a month ago shows how dramatically things have swung back to winter !

My morning meeting at the Loch Lomond National Park HQ was soon cancelled by the organisers and my afternoon visit to Millport quickly became impossible , both because of the weather here and because the boats to Cumbrae were not running.

We are due to drive to Inverness first thing tomorrow for SNP Spring Conference but the snow is forecast to continue into the night. I will also have to try and pick up Cathleen this evening who left very early for a school trip to Glasgow before the weather really closed in and who is now trying to make her way back , though the ferries are all off on the Clyde too.
