Edinburgh Fringe

Last year the Festival programme was cancelled totally but this year it has gone ahead in a much reduced form.

Normally this area is awash with fringe performers in amazing costumes just waiting to be blipped. But not last year or this year.   There were however a few street perfomers around but with nothing like the crowds they would normally attract.

One of them was going through his usual routine and asked if there were any Americans in the audience.  Normally that would lead to some loud shouts and loads of hands going up.  This time there wasn't a single one. 

The other thing I think sums it up is the Extra which shows a portrait artist who would normally be kept busy all day just sitting reading a book.
