And then there was one!

We have a small plum tree which over the years has given us delicious Victoria plums. Most years there have been enough to make jam. However, for the past two or three years it has not been flourishing. This year there were just eight plums developing. But our clumsy gardeners knocked four of the little plums to the ground while they were still green. Never mind, there were still two each, ripening nicely. Until this morning that is, when we discovered there was just one left! Either the paper boy, or the milkman had fancied an early morning snack! So, we quickly cut the sole surviver in half before anything happened to that it, and enjoyed it between us for our dessert!
