Set off…

with temperature at 8° and thick low lying mist. Expected it to have burned off by the time I reached the lochan. However, it was thicker than ever at a higher altitude. Thought I’d gone deaf until a Grouse lifted from under my feet cackling. It was so silent. Nothing moved. But I could smell the heather and knew it was all around me. The sun was trying hard to come through as this shot shows. However, when it started to appear so did the midges, so had to beat a hasty retreat! Finishing the walk, skies cleared, sun shone brilliantly, the midges disappeared and it was hot and purple everywhere! Continued to be a beautiful day!
