About To Be Harvested?

I was up and about at 5:30 a.m. when I heard the sound of  agricultural machinery. It turned out to be a tractor cutting the road verge opposite and also removing the wilting vegetation.

Today’s Blipfoto shows that the verge on our side has still to be cut down.

The crop in the field has also to be harvested. It is very dewy in the mornings just now, but it cannot be long before the combine harvester roar into action.

My own strimmer will soon hum into action along with the mower this afternoon when the dew has evaporated.

In the last few days there are the first signs of autumn as the beech tree leaves begin to turn to gold.
