Newark Castle

….sits in a raised position overlooking the sea just west of St Monans in the East Neuk of Fife. The castle was built in the 15th century. Although the upper floors are in ruins the vaulted cellars remain intact. It is designated by Historic Scotland as a scheduled monument.

Geordie and I walked along this way this morning. It was glorious sunshine and very warm. We didn’t walk far because there was so little shade for Geordie.

The afternoon was spent in the garden, reading then chatting to Mary-Ann and Wendy.

It’s been a very fine day.
