David was up early and off to Dunbar to meet the rest of the guys for a round of golf.  

I had a leisurely morning then Ele picked me up at 2.45pm and we headed to Gail's near Edinburgh to meet up with her and Natalie (also golf widows :-)

It was such a lovely sunny afternoon so we sat in the Gail's beautiful garden drinking G&T and Aperol Sptitz cocktails.

The guys arrived back just before 6pm.  David and Jim were particularly buoyant as they'd won the round.  

Fabulous food followed.  

A starter of continental meats, smoked salmon, prawns, crab, melon, artichokes, pate, crackers, olives, sun-dried tomatoes and bread, then roast trout with a herb crust, chunky homemade potato wedges and salad, and an apple, toffee pastry with vanilla ice cream for dessert.  Absolutely delicious and I am recording it here as it's a menu I will keep up my own sleeve to use in the future ;-))) 

It was such a lovely evening and the first time all eight of us have been able to get together all in almost a year.  I hope it won't be that long till our next get together!
