Last chance to..
..pass on the genes. Last night the temperature dropped to 12 degrees (celcius)! That was a sudden change from the +20 nights we've had for a long time and the insects suffered a bit when they woke up and had to warm up in the morning sun before taking on their normal activity (more or less like me). Whether by instinct, cleverness, ability to pick up signs in nature or, well, pure luck (I doubt it) the insects react to the change of season. The two butterflies on the photo were not at all disturbed by my presence, I guess they were in a hurry to mate so that the female could lay eggs that then would hatch and turn into caterpillar and then crisalide -the state in which it will enter the diapause to survive the winter. It is a fight for survival.
