Back Blip Saturday.

Now back home and nice to have an Internet connection once again,

Saturday was a glorious day. Perfect for our walk from Lord Stones to the top of Cringle Moor. The highest point on the long ridge of the Cleveland Hills that runs from Clay Bank to Osmotherley.
This time the hard way, with a very steep climb to the top, and an easier path down.

At the top is a lovely seat and plate. With the inscription:

“ This plate and seat
were erected
by his many friends
In memory of
1884 - Alec Falconer - 1968”

Alec Falconer was instrumental in the creation of the long distance trail the Cleveland Way which traverses Cringle Moor. Unfortunately he died a year before the trail was officially opened in 1969.

The views on this short walk, looking over to Middlesbrough in the distance, are breathtaking, especially on a day like today.
The heather was also looking it’s best.

Such a wonderful patchwork. Green friend of luscious grass, and golden fields of stubble as most farmers have now finished harvesting.
Finished off with a picnic of a Petcher’s pork pie, bought in Great Ayton earlier in the day.
