Moon and Rainbow

Son still here - we’ve had a lovely day.  Walked into town beside the river for brunch - pausing at the place where the 19 storey tower block is being built in the river bank.  Was pronounced interesting and innovative by mr civil engineer.  After pottering around the city centre, we went to the Cathedral where Luke Jerram’s Moon is on display.  We loved it.  Everyone was having their photo taken with their hands in the air - so it looks like they’re holding it up:) Which is fun. I didn’t do that though.  From a distance it looks like the pits in the surface are really there, but when you get closer you realise it’s a high quality photo, and perfectly smooth. I thought the blue light enhanced it - and certainly made the cathedral look more beautiful.
We also crossed the rainbow crossing at the top of Union Street.  It’s been there a while now, still looking good though a little worn.  It was damaged when it was first done (haters gonna hate - as someone once said) but was quickly restored. I think this kind of thing only makes Bristol a more lovely place to live.
Family get together tonight - I’m making a huge crumble and preparing some veg.  All happening round my son’s dad’s house, nearby.  He has a huge Irish family, which I feel very much a part of.  My own family is very small now.
