Giant fungi, or tiny tree?

While out on my walk with Bertie, quite early this morning, I spotted these lovely, pristine fungi and just had to photograph them. Since Bertie came to live with us, I have been up and about quite a bit earlier than BB (Before Bertie) and I’m spotting things that I would have missed at a more advanced time of the day.
We had a most enjoyable couple of hours this morning with friends and friends of friends, supping coffee and “chewing the fat”. We were very concerned to hear that Argyll and Bute (our local authority area) has the second highest rate of COVID infection in Scotland at the moment.
