Oriam intrudes

An unexpectedly free afternoon and I thought it would be lovely to stroll round the city after a long break. However, stepping onto the Royal Mile from Cockburn St I realisesd I'm not ready for crowds of any kind.

What to do with the beautifully sunny afternoon? Then the glitter of sun-struck sea off the East Lothian caught my eye. Of course - North Berwick! A short jaunt on a train with a beach at the end. When the Departures board showed the Fife train was leaving 10 minutes earlier than the one heading east ,a change of plan was inevitable.

It was lovely. But the awful visibility of the Oriam was disappointing.
