And Then the Rains Came....
... and then they went...
...and then they came back!
What a roller coaster of a day...It was like a weather sampler....a bit of cloud, a bit of sun, a deluge of rain, a taste of sun, a bit of a breeze, and why not throw in some heat and humidity too? Then this evening, whilst we were watching Hurricane Ida on CNN, ( the irony not being lost) the sky darkened, a weird yellowish light appeared in the western sky, thunder rolled, lightning flashed, and POW.. the wind came out of nowhere, whipped the trees about, threw the water into chaos.. and then down came the rain....Like were we in a hurricane too? Of course not, but it was a "wild and crazy" storm!
Of course, being blippers, my sister and I ran out into the chaos and tried to capture it all in photographs..the operative word being "tried"; we had fun, we got soaked and despite not getting a decent blip, it was worth the effort; we got some exercise - the most we had had all day! ..oh, except for bailing boats...which will be on the agenda again tomorrow as, at this very moment, as indicated on the weather forecast, there was a chance of another thunder storm tonight..and here it is.. right on schedule ..the thunder is growling, the lightning is flashing and the rain is pounding on the roof! Here we go again...did I say roller coaster?
It is nice to know that some things can be counted on these days..but I never thought it would be a weather forecast!..But then, on a day like today, a day that involves every kind of weather there is except snow in August, then the weatherman is bound to get something right....
To quote my favourite singer/songwriter/poet/Nobel Prize winner...
"You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows"
