Shooey, Shooey, Shooey, Shooey ….
Another wet day today, seems like it’s not stopped in ages, but didn’t matter too much as we spent most of it in Peter’s new flat. He had far too much stuff because he’s had a huge amount of storage and hates throwing out ‘good’ clothes or shoes or anything else. Amazingly, after watching S persuade Alex to go through all his toys and clothes and decide what should stay or go, he decided to do the same. It’s a miracle! Our car is now full to the gunnels with sacks to go to the charity shop and just a couple for the recycling.
Meanwhile, I was in the cellar searching firstly for some small, glass shelves that had gone AWOL and then for the fittings for a very large shoe cabinet (for very large shoes). The shelves weren’t too hard to find as they look like shelves but the fittings were another matter, eventually turning up wrapped in cling film at the bottom of a bucket. So, the easy part over, I commenced to fit shelves into a unit that insisted on toppling over on top of me no matter how much cardboard I stuffed under the front of it! Methinks wall brackets would be in order. End result, one fully shelved unit, shelves correctly spaced for very large shoes, and three huge, black sacks of shoes waiting to be rehoused.
But a bit later Peter took us out for dinner as a wee Thank You and it was fabulous. I am replete. Tired but replete.
